The issue with the Bible (and other sacred books) is, that it was written down. Religions tend to evolve with the times, the stories adjusted to the environment and shifts. Once it was written down (and proclaimed as final truth) this has stopped.
This also tends to happen in the companies. We write down a process or a guide, and it becomes a sacred text to be followed forever.
We need to be able to change written stuff. Adjust it to the times we live in. Take what is good and throw away what is no longer relevant and does not work.
