It is easy to start watching videos, or scroll through Instagram, or watch a movie, and forget about the important, strategic stuff.
But we should always do the first thing first. The important, long term stuff.
Exercise, sleep, important task at work, saving money.
I have been doing this with money for a long time.
At first, I have tried to track all my expenses and optimize it. It did not work well and in the long term, because it takes effort.
Then I read somewhere that it is easier to set up rules in your bank to save first and live from the rest of the money. And I did just that. Few days after I get my pay I pay all the bills, loans and send money to my saving accounts for retirement, car, house or whatever else I plan in the long term and I live from what is left. It is not much, but at least I do not inflate my living standard.
Now I realized I can do the same with my life. For a long time, I struggle to do the important stuff, because I spend time on bullshit. But I like the bullshit, just as much as I liked spending on bullshit.
So I decided I will first spend me time in a day on the important stuff, and live with what is left.
It seems to be working well. I am not so frustrated at the end of the day with what I did not do and I still have time to do what I want to do.
